Hi! I hope everybody has been doing well!
I have finally reached ILR SET(M) and I wanted to come on here for a final check of my documents. As always I greatly appreciate all your help on this forum!
The application form and requirements seem to have changed slightly (?) because they now require financial information from both applicant and partner, even if we're not using my income to meet the financial requirement.
I have detailed the requirements below in the order of uploading them on the UKVCAS website.
My application date is 5 Oct 2023 and I have until the date of my Biometrics appointment to upload the documents, 21 Oct 2023.
I first entered the UK on 10 May 2018 on a Spouse of a British citizen visa.
Mandatory documents:
1. Declaration signed by partner
2. Applicant's US passport - scanned all pages
Other documents:
1. Applicant's current BRP - scanned front and back of BRP
2. Marriage certificate and (applicant's) Judgement Dissolution from a previous marriage
3. 6 letters showing you have lived together during the past 2.5 years:
- 8 Apr 2021 Joint RBS bank statement
- 20 Oct 2021 Partner's RBS personal bank statement
- 26 Oct 2021 Applicant's Standard Life pension statement
- 26 Apr 2022 Partner's NHS appointment letter
- 11 Apr 2022 Applicant's Nationwide letter from bank
- 14 Oct 2022 Partner's Nationwide personal bank statement
- 28 Oct 2022 Applicant's Nationwide personal bank statement
- 6 Apr 2023 Joint Council Tax letter (new house)
- Sept 2023 Welcome letter from our MP's office addressed to us jointly (we moved to a new area in Apr 2023)
4. Applicant's US passport to prove English language
5. Partner's British passport
6. Letter from your (applicant's) employer(s) confirming employment, gross annual salary, annual salary after tax and National Insurance contributions, length of employment and type of employment (permanent, fixed-term, contract or agency).
This confused me a bit because the guidelines state "annual salary after tax and National Insurance contributions". So my HR and I agreed it's probably best to do a table below:
Gross Annual Salary:
Annual Income Tax Contributions: Avg. £ pm = £ per annum
Annual National Insurance Contributions: Avg. £ pm = £ per annum
Annual Salary After Income Tax and National Insurance Contributions: (Gross Annual Salary) - (Annual Income Tax + Annual NI)
7. Payslips for you (applicant) covering the period of 6 months prior to the date of application.
I get paid every 27th of the month - March to Sept 2023 payslips
8. Personal bank statements covering the same period as your (applicant's) pay slips, showing that your salary has been paid into your account, or an account in your and your partner's names. - March to Sept 2023
9. Bank statement from anytime during the 12-month period prior to the date of my application showing payment for (partner's) Personal Independence Payment - Oct 2022 to Sept 2023
10. Official document from the Department for Work and Pensions or Veterans Agency confirming (partner's) current entitlement and amount received for Personal Independence Payment
11. Letter from your partner's employer(s), confirming employment, gross annual salary, annual salary after tax and National Insurance contributions, length of employment and type of employment (permanent, fixed-term, contract or agency) - Same as my letter above with a detailed table of Income Tax and National Insurance Contributions
12. Payslips for your partner covering the period of 6 months prior to the date of application
My partner gets paid every 28th of the month - March to Sept 2023 payslips
13. Personal bank statements for your partner covering the same period as their pay slips, showing that their salary has been paid into their account
14. Council Tax letter for 2023/24 dated 6 Apr 2023
15. Evidence of monthly housing costs for the accommodation in the UK where you live or will live - Joint Mortgage Statement
16. Proof of finances used to support you and any dependants - Do I have to re-upload all my husband's employer letter, payslips, and bank statements because we are relying on his income to meet the visa requirement? It does not specify what the period must be covered?
We are using my husband's income for simplicity because I was on maternity leave from 4 Jul 2022 to 3 Jul 2023.
17. Documents supporting my other reasons to stay in the UK - children's UK passports
