Wise transfer and FBAR

I used Wise to transfer some money this year. I do not have any of their borderless accounts in which I can hold a deposit.

I had assumed that this was not a financial account reportable, but I saw a post on this forum a few years ago about a case US vs Hom about a firepay account which a commenter argued was similar, and claimed transfers using Wise would be reportable.

Reading the case, it didn't seem similar to me: Hom's firepay account could hold a balance, where my Wise account manifestly cannot.

I assume a bunch of people use Wise on this forum, so I thought I would ask what the current consensus was.

I used Wise, along with a couple of other forex companies for years before opening Wise borderless accounts. I never reported any balances on FBAR filings apart from my Wise borderless accounts.

With Wise, I have a British pound account and a US dollar account.  Wise will show you the account details. 

For my British pound account, the address is shown as a London address, and if I do a reverse lookup of the sort code, it shows the same address and lists the bank name as "Wise Payments Limited".  Doing the same for my US dollar account, the address is New York, NY, and the reverse lookup shows a Queens NY address and lists the bank name as "Community Federal Saving Bank".

My British pound account is thus with a non-US bank, and that's the only Wise account I list on FBAR.
