Priority Service Missing (FLR UK 2024)

Hi there friendly community,

We are about to submit our FLR 2nd visa to the home office, but the priority service is not available, only standard.

We had researched that a fast service was available at 2 levels (800GPB for the next day and 500GPB for 5 working days) but the service does not come up at all. We decided not to use an immigration lawyer this time to save money and now we do not know what to do.

Ideally, we would not want to wait the standard 8 weeks because we, perhaps foolishly, booked a trip to visit the USA from March 30th 2024. As today is February 2nd, 8 weeks or longer would not get my passport back in time!

Any advice? It's now the weekend and the office hours for our past immigration lawyer are closed. Is there some news that has come up that means the priority service is suspended, or is it just from after the new year and Christmas office closure, and they might come back online if we wait?

Don't panic - this is normal.

There are only a limited number of £800 Super Priority slots released each day (about 50, I believe), so if the option doesn't come up when you go to submit, that means they are all sold out for today and you'll need to try again tomorrow instead.

New slots are released at midnight each night, so in order to have the best chance at getting a slot you will need to log in at midnight tonight and hope for the best. If you don't manage to get one right away, you will just need to keep trying at midnight each night until you get one.

Just make sure you do not finalise the submission and pay for the application if you are not given the opportunity to add the Super Priority service, as you cannot add it on later and will be stuck with the 8-week processing.

For information, only the £800 24-hour Super Priority service is available for partner/family applications. The £500 5-day service is only available to other types of applicants (mainly work and student visa applications).
