We are ready to submit the ILR application but our only hesitation is timing for the biometrics appointment as my husband (the applicant) has a couple of medical appointments which he cannot miss.

Can anyone shed light on the timing of biometrics appointments at the moment, please. Are they usually offered within a couple of days? couple of weeks? longer? Any insight would be extremely helpful as we're holding off submitting at the moment.

Many thanks.

It really depends on what appointments are available at the time you check - there may be appointments available in a few days, or you may have to wait a few weeks... you won't know until you go to book it.

However, it's completely up to you when you book your appointment and which centre you attend... you have, I think, about 2 months within which to attend the appointment, so you can just book one for a date that is convenient for you. If one centre doesn't have anything suitable, you can try a different one.

You can also cancel and rebook your appointment (though there is a £10 fee to cancel), so if the date you pick ends up being unsuitable, you can rebook it for a better date (see https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/faq for more information)

Essentially, you do have options, so I wouldn't hold off on submitting your application just because of the biometrics appointment... I would submit now if you're ready and then you can figure out the appointment date afterwards.

Thanks.
One last question: when they ask for previous passport, identity card or travel document used to travel to/in the UK, do we need to upload an old passport which expired before he came to live in the UK (even though he travelled here for several years before living here)?

No, they only need it if it was used to enter and has since expired. Not if it expired before you entered.

Where are you based? I am in London and submitted last week and they had super priority appointments available the very next day! I picked a week out, personally. And aside from the Christmas closure they had many avl into January. Good luck!

Help!  Sorry I don't know how to enter this as a new thread.  But I do have an after-biometrics question.  This is in relation to my spouse visa application.
It says to mail my passport and application to a center in the US in New York.  Am I supposed to print out the whole application and send it?  I mean, it's online so that wouldn't seem right.  And where do I send it? I've seen two different addresses and the one on the UK visa website says:  VFS Services USA Inc.
UKVI Scanning Hub
128 East 32nd St
Floor 4
New York NY
10016
So I send it to a scanning hub though I plan to upload documents myself?  I am feeling lost and it's pretty distressing having got this far in the process and to still be unclear about what is the correct thing to do.  Can anyone help?  Again, sorry for posting this on this thread, and thanks to any help anyone can offer.
