Oh thank heaven - steak bakes

I finally found a recipe online for steak bakes (John Kirkwood) and made them today. Not identical to Greggs or Iceland, but really good.

 There have been so many dreary afternoons in the winter when all I wanted was a steak bake for lunch, like I used to have in Glasgow. And now I can!    I didn't have Bisto,  but improvised. It works!



Now I've just got to break myself of missing listening to the shipping forecast before falling asleep at night. I actually do miss that. Why on earth, I don't know.  I'd listen to the shipping forecast, then sing "My country reeks of trees" along with the national anthem,  and then fall asleep. I guess it just reminds me of that really happy year we had when we first got there.    Time to move on, brain, time to move on....
