I have to say that summer (here) is not my favorite time of year. Autumn definitely does it for me, though, when the air is crisp and all the trees turn colors.

The trees are definitely starting to change colors.  ;D  The temperature is lovely - we've seen all sorts of wildlife, including a deer with her fawn, while out walking in the mornings. (They are chowing down on the acorns under the oak trees.) And we finally have a little rain after a few weeks of none at all.  We could have a considerable amount in 10 or so days, depending on where the remnants of the hurricane go. I'm good with that (as we're not in a basement flat, thankfully!).

Speaking of (storms not flats), they are predicting up to 20 ft storm surges (not survivable) along part of the Florida coast. Mandatory evacs have been put into place, but they can't really force anyone to leave. Helene is up to a Cat 3 and could make 4.  The sheriff is telling those people who were asked to evacuate who have not done so to write their names and birth dates, and next-of-kin contact info on their arms in indelible marker so his office knows what to do when their bodies are found. No, seriously. Some people are truly.... whatever. Photo of the press release attached.

May even the stupid ones who don't evac have enough luck to survive this one.   :o    Or divine intercession, as they're going to need it.

You've probably already heard about this, but in case not.

I've been watching the weather in the tropics as it's hurricane season here. There appears to be one monster of a storm (NOAA named it "Kirk") in the mid-Atlantic that they are forecasting will swing back and head in your general direction. It is forecast to downgrade from hurricane, but will bring some substantial wind events to wherever it hits on that side of the pond.  Might be something to keep an eye on, if that could cause problems for you.
