Hi
« on: February 03, 2025, 06:52:43 PM »
Hello Everyone
I first came across this forum back in 2009 when I met my USC,, back then we decided for a number of reasons that me moving to the US was the better plan.
Came over on a K1 visa, got married, had a kid and got my US citizenship in 2015.
We are now feeling very anxious and that it's time to get out while the going is good. We are looking at Cambridge as I have family nearby (but not to close) and they have a sizeable Chinese population and tech sector.

Welcome to the site. Do you have a visa route to move to the UK?

I'm a UK citizen so it will be a spousal visa for my USC husband. My daughter is also a dual citizen so it's just him that needs paperwork.

The actual immigration paperwork seems easier than the corresponding US stuff when I moved stateside, but actually moving a whole family to the UK, when it's primarily due to fear is not the same as moving a single adult who wants to marry someone she loves.

Our first step is sorting out our finances, we have enough in savings but they need to be in the bank a little longer to meet the 6 month requirement. ANd then we have all the wrapping up of our US life and creating the new UK one
