Part 2...Lost my wedding ring!
« on: January 22, 2005, 02:44:12 PM »
Since I am having no luck in finding the same ring, what are my options but get a new one. BUT, what do I do about it. I know I can pick a new one out but do we have a ceremony? or do something else? Anyone know?

You certainly don't have to have a ceremony -- you're still married!  Might be a sweet gesture to repeat your vows to each other as your put your new ring on (and you DH puts his old one on!).   :)

I have a friend who's on her 4th ring because she's lost the first 3.  I know it's a sentimental and all but having another ceremony is not necessary.  I like Lola's suggestion...

Remember, the ring is just a symbol of your marriage.  It's not the marriage itself.
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

You are both right. After 10 years I KNOW we are married. I was just wondering if there was something special to do. As I am so upset with the lose of the ring. BUT as I was looking for my old one I found another I fell in love with. Hubby is understanding, which is great. I didn't get my diamond until we were married 5 years as we couldn't afford it when we got engaged. Let's go shoppi ;Dng!
