A Baby Sleeping Miracle
« on: January 25, 2005, 02:25:18 PM »
(Ta-da!)

The Double Swaddle.

Morgan will not sleep unless she is being cuddled.  This was posted on baby center so I decided to give it a try-and last night she slept in her bassinet for three hours all by herself.  I went to bed!

It's a miracle!  I think I'm the only one with a little baby, but I know a few people are pregnant-I swear this works!

How old do you think this would work up to?

Congrats!!  Many, many families swear by The Happiest Baby on the Block swaddle, swoosh, etc method.  I've never tried it myself but fwiw.

My friend swaddled her son until he was almost 10 months old - he wouldn't sleep any other way.  He even liked to creep around his crib like a little caterpillar without getting out of it!

babies are funny aren't they? the only time my baby was swaddled was just after he was born and even then he couldn't wait to break out of it!

Dagmar hated being swaddled too!  It never even occurred to me to really try it with Morgan, as I'd never done it, but there were so many people on Babycenter swearing up and down that their babies were finally sleeping I gave it a go.

My middle one(the screamer) could only settle down if she was swaddled.

Jordan was a cry baby at birth and I remember one of the young Airman (military hospital) wrapped him up tightly in a receiving blanket and propped him on his side. He slept for hours. My problem is my babies are always so big they dont stay in regular sized receiving blankets. I tried swadling Jack when he was born but he kicked right out of it. He was just shy of 11lbs.
