Looking for a toy
« on: March 06, 2005, 10:53:34 AM »
This past XMAS .. here in the UK .. there was a toy advertised all over TV wich was a gadget for kids 3-5 that you plug into TV

and it becomes sort of an interactive "leap frog" type of toy .. with games and learning tools for kids .. so a mini computer (onto the TV) of sorts ..

I know it's a long shot, but did anybody saw it or remember it's name .. I want to get one for my daughters and I cant rebers the darn name of it :)

do you mean the kid's console that little ones can play disney winnie the pooh games on?

I saw it in Wollies for around £30 turns out it may have been a flop because most kids play xbox games already so they could really compete. Check ebay if it's the one I am thinking of.

it's produced by V-tech

I'm guessing it was a Leapfrog brand interactive toy but I don't recall the ad so not sure which one. This is the Leapfrog site though:

v.smile is the only one I remember being pushed last christmas. The advert had a talking shaggy dog talking about how lucky kids were to play with the console....my daughter kept dragging me from whatever it was I was doing inorder for her show me the advert.

vsmile is the one :) .. looks really nice .. I have an XBOX myself, but I find the games will be way too complicated and even violent for little children .. this looks like a nice clean alternative.

My 3 year old loves for us to open the disney website on the computer so she can "play" the jo-jo circus game ..

yeah , we've got X-box and the only thing our little one can play is the Snow game which is not violent just competitive snowboarding (and that's with Dad). I do get quite shocked at the number of kids that come to the ward under the age of 6 that already know how to use and play x-box games (Halos , Metal gear, etc. ) We've got portable consoles for any patient to use.... I bring Winnie the pooh game and they look at me like I'm some dweeb. :P

V.smile is good and I've seen it on Ebay for £14. so you'll probably get it at an after Christmas bargain too  ;D
