Yes! I am not alone!
« on: March 02, 2005, 07:30:55 PM »
Since my move here just a mere month and half ago, I have been craving things from home!  I have travelled a great deal in the past but never actually lived abroad.  When travelling, I always took delight in whatever the local fare was....but now...MMM do I miss some stuff! It seems what I crave most (a consistent craving at home as well) is Hispanic/Latin American food.  This post could turn into a cultural commentary because it is difficult for me to not have any Latinos as a part of my community and quality latino food almost nol and void.  Of course, I now have the pleasure of enjoying amazing Indian food and Balti houses (here in the West Midlands).  But what I wouldn't give for some avocado and bean burritos!!!!  My mom has sent me saltine crackers (of which I could write yet another blog about the conversation with friends here about wording: biscuits vs. cookies; biscuits for cheese vs. crackers)  and kraft macaroni and cheese but I can't get a good me from La Hacienda shipped can I? ;)

LOL... I am afraid you will have to make it yourself or jet down to some of the latin markets in Spain where there are tons of latinos adding to the Spainish population.

Check out the section on ethnic food  finds for some shops to help you get your fix.
