I have a few friends from my hockey club who have recently gotten engaged...and they have MUCH smaller stones than my friends in the States (incl my friend who just got a 2.1 carat almost perfect solitaire...I don't even want to think about what it cost).  If I ever get engaged over here, I know I want something small and simple, cause I'm a very active person...a huge diamond would look both ridiculus on me (I'm not a huge jewelery person) and would cause hurt to someone (sport or just walking or talking as I tend to swing my hands around!).

I hope to find something that looks like:

Mine looks like the top photo that onetiger displayed, only with a smaller stone.

I originally had the standard solitaire-on-prongs engagement ring, and a seperate wedding band, but with the diamond being up so high, i kept jagging it on things.  So i had the stone removed, and set almost flush, into a thicker band.   Binned (well, put away and no longer wear...) the cheap Argos wedding band, and just wear the one ring with the engagement stone in it.

Don't have one.  Eloped.  Glad, too, b/c it would just be another thing for me to keep track of and babies love all things shiny and sparkly.

Thank ND and SG.......it does look really good with the eternity band....... ;D

It's by a designer called Ola Gorie and she is in the Orkney Islands...she does alot of different celticy designs...mine is called Stroma......

She also does necklaces and bracelets and bangles.......all kinds of sparkly stuff.......

I wish they did a matching engagement ring....but as I have short fat stubby fingers I doubt it would fit anywho.....

 :(

I like the other ring as well...........it is pretty I always wondered what it was called...........
