Hello all! I know that no one can help, but I really need to whine (sorry in advance!)
So, DF and I decided that it would be best to settle in the states for a few years, as my folks are both ill. Fine, we set a wedding date for May 21, and start the visa paperwork.
Everything was going smoothly until the last couple of weeks. Apparently, they are changing the medicals for fiance visas starting April 1. Well, this sort of means that while they smooth out the kinks, they have gotten back logged and interviews are being slow to hand out. We did the math based on average wait times, and figured that we should have been alerted of our interview date in London by mid-March, and that the interview would be no later than April 20 or so. Well, because of the back log, they do not even have us in the system as having returned our paperwork yet (recorded delivery says it arrived at the embassy on Mar 7).
I know that there is still time, but it is less than 8 weeks and that may not be enough time if London doesn't get busy and start issuing dates!! I just don't know what to do. We've called and emailed the embassy, no luck. Paul is ready to go at a moments notice, but until we hear of an interview date, we are in this no-mans land. We can't make any formal plans, and don't even know if the wedding will be able to take place on time!
So, as I said, I am just a little stressed and felt the need to vent. Cross your fingers for us, and say a prayer or two! It's hard knowing that your future is in the hands of the Federal government!!
