I learned that since my pets are small I can transport them in the cabin as carry on luggage. I already asked the people at PETS about bringing them via France and they said okay. No carrier allows pets in the cabin when travelling to the UK, hence the French connection. But I will also have to rent a car and then take them by ferry to the UK and then return the car to France since the UK doesn't allow one way international drop offs. What a pain! This may kill the deal for me so I appreciate any experience with this specific kind of transport. Thanks!

Could you not just take a taxi from the airport to the ferry?

The animals have to remain in a car the entire time.
