And every woman ought to chart for a year or so, just for the experience of it. It's so interesting to do.

I'm such a geek - I actually have a little piece of freeware on my palm that I use to track my cycle.  Not anything to do with fertility (no men in my life at the moment....sigh.....), but I hate being caught by surprise by TOM.  In addition to tracking your cycle, the software does estimate your most fertile days and has a place where you can keep notes...handy I suppose if you're trying to get pg.....
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

Kristi- the most obvisous non-hormonal birth control method I can think of is a non-hormonal IUD (there are two kinds, one releases hormones and the other doesnt).  I've been told that women in monogomous relationships are ideal candaites (apparently if you get an STD with the IUD, there is a slightly greater chance of scaring etc).  I've also been told that ideally you should have already had a child.  This is for ease of insertion and less of a chance of uterine tearing, and less of a chance of explusion.  However, as long as you get it inserted during your period, and check it every month or so (to make sure it hasn't been expelled) you should be fine.

Does anyone know if your periods are supose to get lighter or heavier on the IUD?
If you harbour bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

we only use NFP  Natural Family Planning.. exactly what you are talking about it seems only Idon't have the fancy software.. just a pre designed notebook like you are talking about..with the spaces for notes and  all that..    it DOES work for us..  you just have to be diligent like taking your daily pill or whatever..
