Settlement Visa

I just received my spousal settlement visa on Monday.  Am I assuming correctly that this gives me the right to work in the UK?  Will employers ask to see this document?

yeah you can work as soon as you get to the UK but you won't be entitled to receive any public funds. I applied for mine and i hope i get it soon so i can stop all the worrying!!!
