After reading thru all the posts here and searching the internet- I am still unable to find the clarification I need to the proof of residence for myself for my fiancee's visa.  I have been travling for the past eight months between Central America, Mexico and the UK, I am headed home to the USA to apply for my fiancee's visa and do not have any bills to my parent's address, I only have bank statments, fiancial statements and a driver's license with their address on it.  I do have cell phone bills with the address on it from Oct 2004, but that is the last bill.  My question is this, what else would be helpful in proving that my parents has been my home residence - could a letter from them work, or is the bank statements and finaicial stuff ok???  I am headed back on Sunday and will be in LA on the 23rd.  I am completely scared, I know it is paranoia, but am having nightmares about not being allowed back in the country ( UK) becasue I have been a bit of a vagabound and living out of a back pack??? Any comfort suggestions will help - Thank you, Lee

My husband (fiance at the time) was living with his disabled father before i came over. He got a letter from his dad stating Frank was living with him and also both of us would be staying with him for a few months in England till we found our own house. The letter was acceptable at that time. This was nearly 5 years ago.

Thanks for the quick reply - I do have support for my fiancess address and accomadation in the UK- I was concerned about myself and my accomadation in the USA, I have not really been home in eight months, back and forth but not home.  Therefore, no proof of my abode.  Do you think this will be a problem?

Its been a long time since I applied. But I dont remember providing any financial info on me or info on my residence since I was moving to the UK. Frank on the other hand had to bring tons of paperwork about his job, bank statements, deed to his father's house along with the letter from him...tons of stuff. I cant really remember bringing anything but my passport and my payslips.

I agree with pebbles-- I don't recall needing any proof of US residence just of your future home in the UK

The VAF2 form asks for proof of your current residence. I brought a copy of my New York apartment lease with me when I applied in person, but the interviewer never asked for it.
