I'm HERE! I'm HERE!!! And, thank you, Maddie and Lola for thinking of me.
Jamie and I had a few computer difficulties (in other words, the old heap of circuits we had been using finally gave up the ghost at last - the motherboard crashed!
), so we were offline for all tooooooooo long. But, I'm back now (Jamie's mum lent us some money to get a new one) and want to catch up on how everyone is doing.
As for me, I have been busy with the job that I got back in February: working at an independant healthshop. I am doing pretty well there and have already completed - and passed! - one course on herbal medicine.
Jamie and I are doing wonderfully well, relationship wise. Our living condition could be greatly improved, however. We are in a quandry about it. Funds are low; we have Jamie's past debt to deal with and we need to save money to go see my kids, so we are having to live in a not-so-nice shared house with less than nice housemates
:\\\'( (this is an understatement); it gets us both down - a whole lot. We could get out of here, but it might (and probably would) mean not going to see my kids this year. :\\\'( We have our names on the list for a council house...but, you know how long that can take: years and bloody more years.
It's a very frustrating situation. One bathroom, one kitchen and
FIVE other people (two of the neanderthals upstairs have moved their women in with them, and the landlord doesn't care what any of them do as long as he gets his rent - he doesn't even care that one of the blokes continues to pee on the bathroom floor, a floor that happens to be carpeted...
). Because I have a few health problems myself (low immune system and IBS), having just the one bathroom presents some pretty big problems.
I keep reminding myself that being
with Jamie here is so much better than being
without him in the States. We fought through so much just to be together, and now we are. We do take comfort and rejoice in that, and our love sustains us through all the crap we have to endure at this place.
