Dumb Question but.. do they accept cash at the Consolate?
« on: June 03, 2005, 07:37:21 AM »
I know this is a dumb question and i wont be able to sleep till i find out.
Do they acept cash as payment at the LA Consolate?
I ask this cos at one point it says it says we do not accept cash.. ( under mail in apps) and then it says money order and cashier checks under appointments. but certianly everywehre takes cash. It would make my day MUCH Faster if i didnt have to go to  the bank to get a money order if my mom leaves cash..
aaaaaaaaaaaaah ( i am borrrowing money cos my hubby is unable to get to the bank he had al il footie accident)
 >:(
the website is confusing. I want to be sure. I am SURE I saw a cash register last time and the lady gave me my change in cash when i had given her a money order over paid because i came in instead of mailing my form.

I ALSO have one other queston.  I was so excitide filling out my form.. We did it righ tafter we ewer married in march.. i put my arrival date was ike may 3nd but i havend even gotten anything till last week to get togethr from patch. what do i do?

We paid in cash at the NYC consulate, but each consulate might have different rules.  Probably best to take a cashier's cheque or a money order to be on the safe side.

Re:  your arrival date.  Just show whatever you've got booked when you go for your appointment. If they need to know why there was a delay, just explain that DH had an accident and couldn't get the stuff to you as soon as expected.

You'll be just fine!  The spousal visa really is a simple thing if you've got your ducks in a row.  Good luck!  :)

FYI, I was at the NYC consulate on Friday and they would not take cash. Luckily I also had a credit/debit card available that they did take.
