NO MORE PRET!
« on: May 24, 2005, 04:26:18 PM »
Due to budgetary constraints, I limited my ventures to Pret (A Manger) some time ago.

However, I was just informed that THEY ARE OWNED BY MACDONALD'S!!!   :o

I for one, am... gobsmacked.
Hollywood, CA -> London, UK 2004
London, UK -> Long Beach, CA 2007

Best 3 1/2 years of my life!

yup they are!!!!!

pret food is always a disappointment to me.....but sometimes i have to do it.

i had their crayfish salad once and it was decent, but the dressing was NASTY.  I'm kinda off them at the moment.

Pret is in NYC for sure.  I think there are six just in Manhattan.  I've been to the one in Rockefeller Center and on W 50th btw 6th and 7th when I used to work in midtown.

Hmmm, so funny, I lived there and never saw one!  Oh well, from Amy's review I am not missing much!

Yeah, you're not missing much, especially when you can get a nice big pastrami on rye with mustard which you can't even finish from numerous delis for the same price as a pret sandwich which one can finish in a few bites.   :)  Though pret does have some unique sandwich combinations which I used to try every so often.

Only one I liked was the avocado wrap. Very tasty.

Now I'm big into Ainsley's Cajun Chicken Breast Wrap. Just thinking about it makes me drool. (luckily, I just had one today for lunch, so I'm full.)
There are two things in life for which we are never truly prepared:  twins.

what shocks me about pret and eat etc. are how they can take normally healthy ingredients and make them so bloody unhealthy,

my salad i LOVE from pret has a gajillion callories in it-and it's just hummus and veg!!!!!!!!!!  lay off the sesame paste people!

I'm crushed!! I really liked Pret, but now that I know they are owned by McDonald's, never again will I darken their door.

:( It's just all so annoying!!

Please don't tell me Planet Organic are owned by McDonald's!!!
