Ok when DH was just DF I had sent him Kisses back to the UK, all the guys he worked with hated them. Said they were awful.

Now 10 years later he will not eat UK chocolate. His mum sends him all types for Easter and other holidays. We give it in small amounts to our daughter, who doesn't know the difference or wait until a party and "show" it off to our friends and family. At least they think it is cool to have something from somewhere else.

add my 2p here, i think that usa chochlates are more bland than uk chochaltes (cadburys the exception for usa) i.e thorntons is far better than most usa chochlates.
belguim chochlates are the best choice:) none better
most usa chochlates are tatsteless and not much to savor, but there are some good usa brands, like reese's and hershey for example
personally i think cadbury, thorntons are the best 2 choices with belguim being the best:)

saw mention of coke previously posted in this topic, as an avid coke drinker i must agree uk coke isnt as good as usa coke, also find it hard to find uk coke at some shops as most are from other countries (i.e french coke etc..)
which isnt very nice in my opinion
oddly enough the only difference in coke is the sugar used, i.e sugar cane versus other
thats the only difference in coke (came from coke usa)
as most may know different types of sugar has a different taste to it
