Thanks again Otterpop .

Paul1966 thanks for the heads up..i drive a honda 89 so its relatively "hands on" non diagnostic-machine maintanance for the most part.

Yea my earlier question was for a quicky oil change centers like the one in the states..but i gues i will have to search my neighbourhood and see find out . I guess a lot of people on this forum dont actually live in London as i have yet to hear any specific suggestions in London area (zone2-3 ).

I will check out the Hartfords chain and hopefully they have a tune-up center for their locations in london . If anyone else who lives in London has additonal tips, it will be greatly appreciated.

Incidently, we are still driving under my fathers insurance plan ( Austrian insurance ) can anyone suggest any specific insuance company that has better rates ? I know LHD cars might be charged more, but we will see what happens.

Cheers

Also, a lot of people in London dont bother having a car.

I've googled this for you, and there seems to be a Halfords in the Mile End Road, in addition to the one i told you about in Barking, which is not that far away.  You might try phoning the Mile End one to see if they have a garage.

Well i say you DO need a car in London...even if you only drive it on weekends...you get a lot done with a car and you can travel out of town..out of UK for that matter and still have a car at your disposal. Also good for long distant shopping like Ikea or price club etc....plus i am getting really tired of riding the bus packed like tuna..and those smelly folks....uhhhgh..someone pass them a bar of soap!!

thanks for checking Hartfords locations
