USA National Rail search

A bit off topic because its got nothing to do with the UK, but can anyone remember any websites similar to the UK's National Rail Enquiries that works on the US Rail Network?  For instance, if I wanted to go from Brewster, NY to Crystal City is there a site with one database that tells me to take Metro North to NYC then the Amtrak to Washington, the the Metro to Crystal City?

Nope, not as far as I know and I traveled by train around the US for 25 years.  Since the folks here are so diverse when it comes to home towns, I'd ask the list members how to get from A to B.
