Post natal pilates?
« on: June 02, 2005, 04:07:17 PM »
Hi all,

My son was born 5 weeks ago and I am in a state of shock and horror over the state of my body.  Just a few too many chocolate bars and bags of chips I think!  Time for me to start getting back in some sort of decent shape.  I have heard that the Winsor Pilates DVDs are good.  Does anyone know anything good/bad about them?

I used Method Precision Pilates and was very, very pleased with the results.  I'd been doing Pilates for years and liked the Method b/c all you need is some floor space and a matt (I used my old yoga matt).

But I hear good things about Windsor as well.  Have a look at the user comments on amazon.com.  That's usually a pretty good source.

It's a great exercise for post-natal b/c it's not too jarring.

I have a few Winsor DVDs and I love them! Mari Winsor has this way of being encouraging without getting on my nerves. (That's subjective of course~she may not be for everyone!) I have one that runs 50 minutes and a shorter, 20 minute one. No special equipment needed, just a mat. Good luck! :)

I just responded to another post about this, I have Winsor Pilates, they have definitely helped my flexibilty and you CAN lose weight and get in shape with them.  Mari is great, full of energy and considers the beginners when doing her tape.  I also just orded Power 90 from beachbody.com .  I am moving in less than a week, chasing a toddler, packing, THAT's my exercise for now.  I will start my Power 90 once setted back in UK! :P
