How long did it take for your IN-PERSON ILR application?

I've just booked my ILR appointment in Liverpool!    For those of you who have applied in person, how long were you actually at the PEO?  Just trying to figure what time to book the return train....

I did my FLR in person at liverpool---- it took about 2.5 hours. I would guess it would be similar. They looked over the paper work and then told me it would take about an hour and a half to get the visa all typed up and sorted. They were closer to two hours. It was for me and my daughter---not sure if that added time.

When do you have your appointment? Interested in a day out in liverpool?

It took us 7.5 hours at Croydon in June & just be aware that booking an appt doesn't really mean anything other than they are supposed to know that you are there    Everyone who gets in & pays before you will probably be seen first even though you've been given a specific time.

But now I've just realised that you probably mean just how long did it take in that specific office. doh  I do think it is best to give yourself a goodly chunk of time, though. Immigration has a huge monopoly, IMO & seem notoriously unaware that when paying for a premium service, we sort of do expect just that!

Sounds like a good excuse to see what Liverpool has to offer! Hope your experience is better than ours was!

I didn't realize you had to book an appt for your ILR....don't remember doing that for my FLR.   I'll be doing mine in Croydon.  How long does it take to get an appt?  I was hoping to nip up there in mid-August (and be there the entire day) but get it done then.  Also, my two years is up on 12 Sept (2nd wedding anniv).  Isn't it true that you can actually apply (and hopefully receive) the FLR on month before your visa is up?

HG -- it's booked for 9 September -- unfortunately we're coming from Newcastle in the morning and will be leaving as soon as we're finished (didn't want to stay overnight b/c that'd involve taking the dog to the kennel, etc.  ).  Will let you know if we're back in Liverpool as I'd love to meet up! 

Runner1 -- you'll need to call Croydon (0870 606 7766 between 9 and 4:45 or 4:30 on Fridays) to book your appointment.  Set aside about an hour to make the call as it'll take a while before you stop getting a busy signal!  You can apply four weeks before your FLR expires, which is exactly what I'm doing -- 9 September is four weeks to the day for me as my FLR expires on 7 October.

 

Thanks Lola....now one more question....where the hell is the correct application form!!!  The guy on the phone in Croydon told me to download an SET form (he also gave me some other info but couldn't understand him!) but look as I may, I can't find it!

Yep -- it's the SET(M) form.  The IND site is being wonky for me at the moment, but it's on the page with all of the other application forms for sure.
