Letting in Liverpool

my hubby and I are looking to move to Liverpool for the 2006-2007 school year.  He would like to get his Masters degree at the University of Liverpool.  As I understand it, there is a rush to find good lets at some point in the year.  I've asked a few realtors and I've gotten no response.  Is that just because it's a dumb question?  We would like to plan a trip over to scope out the lets and possible reserve one for the following school year (paying the summer reserve price).  I was thinking a good time to do that would be maybe May or June, when school is getting out and students are moving home or getting on with thier lives.  Any help you guys could give me would be great!
