We're about £60-75/week for two adults, one teenager and two under 10s. I tend to use the 99p stores A  LOT! I love 'em. Everything in the store for 99p and they've got stuff I actually use! Soap, toothpaste, cleaners, bin liners . . . yadda, yadda, yadda. Gotta be careful cuz it IS an impulse buyers nightmare (dream?) but armed with a list it's a pretty great pound stretcher.

I've found that buying good food - ie fresh from butcher or green grocer - makes a real difference in how much we actually eat. Having tasty fruit, veg and meat to cook with and snack on means lots of flavour and less need to snack on more expensive things.
I know I'm late - where's the booze?

At the moment, I've only been here a week - 2 times we've gone food shopping (when I first got here and yesterday). We spent 68 last week and 64 this week for just the two of us plus wine. We like wine and have at least 3-4 bottles a week (if you'd meet my brit bf, 1 bottle is nothing for him). I am going to try and cut that down by at least 10-15 pounds by shopping online...anyone like asda's delivery service? I will also try Hopster's menu planning.

You might want to check out wine delivery as well - sometimes you can bottles for much cheaper (and definitely better) than in a grocery store.  I tend to use virginwines.

There's wine delivery?!

We're heavy wine drinkers as well. We use Laithwaites. Nice wine and very reasonable prices.
