That's a good point. I think in terms of size and distribution we're about even, but certainly the cost of flights and lodging is probably a bit lopsided, though not terribly. We do intend to help out those for whom those costs will be a burden.
The main factor is fear of flying. If we hold the big wedding in the UK, there are some close relatives of mine who simply will not be able to attend because they are gripped by a paralyzing, panic-inducing anxiety on airplanes -- and in one case even on trains! I'm not sure why this is. Perhaps it's a consequence of growing up rural, working class, outdoorsy sorts who have little occasion (or funding) to travel much, but it's a serious issue. And it's just my family. I would hate for anyone to be left out because of this.
