Ok, that's not the road I meant to go down, what I really meant to write but got sidetracked in the thinking about favorite breakfast spots back home, was the way you'd get your coffee refilled from the pot, even if it was sh*t coffee, it was sh*t brewed coffee, and you'd get it constantly topped up. Ahhhhhh, sniff! Them were the days. LOL

So true.  There was a small, independant place called The Greenhouse I used to go to that serves huge homemade blueberry muffins (they buy them from a little ol' lady who makes them and delivers them fresh each morning; I have no idea what they'll do when she dies).  I took Jamie there a few times, and everytime, if they hadn't run out (which often happened because of their popularity), he would just have to order an extra muffin for himself.  Anywho...they have some of the best, freshly brewed coffee there, served with real half and half which they leave at your table and, of course, as you said, they continue to keep your coffee topped up with the fresh hot stuff right from the pot.  ~Ohhhhh.....droooool~

God, I miss going out to breakfast SO much. Not because of the food (I can do that here easily enough) but because I miss it as a social event. In SF going out to breakfast was just what you did on weekends after a big night out. There were very few places that you didn't have to queue for a good half hour or more. My fav. place had a pot of coffee and paper cups next to the door, so you could put your name on the waiting list, get a cuppa and sit outside (albeit on the sidewalk, LOL) while you waited....

there is a place in chelsea called ye old waffle house or something....right on kings road.  i've been wanting to go but never get out of bed in time for breakfast and make it over there.  i either make my own or go to a local cafe for a fry up.

i guess living in london is good as we have a lot of places for brunch etc.......

Is that the same as Bobs Big Boy?
I used to love their chilli spaghetti... a really mild chilli in a thick gravy-ish sauce, served over spaghetti, with melted cheese over the top.  Was really nice and filling!

Originally it was Frishes Big Boy...but, it has had time (YEARS) to change.

Steak and Shake.  They also did that chili-spaghetti thing, as well.  :)  VERY FILLING!
