It's just that if you are into crafting and sweing, or making things, the channels here don't cover things like that. Least I've not found any. Create and Craft is not what I mean, when I mention crafts. I mean shows like Carol Duvall where you can learn and get ideas.

Glad to hear that you can still watch football even though you have to pay extra for it. It would be something I would miss about the US.

Fantasy football has now officially started!

How about The Oprah Winfrey Show?  Is there a British Idol, or is it called something else?

Honey, we invented it!! It's called "Pop Idol" over here. We also have something called "The X-Factor," another Simon Cowell talent show. If it's reality TV you like, then you're coming to the right place!! (If you have cable, you'll also get to watch "American Idol" -- with a delay of only a couple of days.)

We do get Oprah and Dr Phil, although they (mercifully) seem to both be gone for the moment...

I don't think we've had "So, You Think You Can Dance," but we get a lot of Bachelor-type shows. You'll be spoiled for choice!!

I need to know if England gets the HGTV channel! It is the one channel I watch everyday. Please tell me you get it, or we may not move! Really!

So, if we'd told you there was nothing like this channel over here... what would you have done?

that's still going on?  OMG!  I actually felt embarrassed for those pitiful saddos who humiliated themselves on that show.

We had one just like it here, but it was called 'Mr. Right'.  He ended up marrying the presenter!

Cooking, house buying and renovation, and "reality" (Ugh!  :P ) shows are here by the dozen.   From what I've seen of most of the DIY shows though, they're pretty superficial these days, so don't expect the detailed guides on how to do something that used to be on our screens years ago.

I forget who is was who said "200 channels and still nothing to watch."

I don't know about 200, but Bruce Springsteen sang about "Fifty-Seven Channels (and Nothin' On)." Close enough! :D
