How is Continental for flights? Are their international flights alright? Are they comfortable? How about with kids? And domestic? Any opinions? Thanks

continental was great for me as one of their mini-hubs in newark- many flights to many places.  i can't remember any personal horror stories.  i like their online booking serivce, as it allows for some flexibility (checking +/- a few days).  domestic US- be prepared for minimal on board catering- last time i flew domestic 2 years ago, I purchased meals (drinks for free).

My parents use them when they come to visit b/c they offer a Newark-Edinburgh flight.  My sister and BIL use them when they visit as well.  They all seemed to be pleased with it and we haven't had any luggage problems or delays.  But don't know how they'd be for kids b/c my sister's are older and she leaves them w/my mom and dad when they come across.

Yes they now have a Newark/Belfast route and that is the one I am considering. Are the economy seats comfortable or are they sardines? I am thinking it would be worth the transfer in Newark to give up the bus ride to and from Dublin, but I'd like to know more, am I dreaming to hope that there's some leg room?

Anyway any and all information totally appreciated.

economy seats are sardines.  if you find an airline whose economy seats arn't, please let me know.

I am a continental frequent flyer. The first 3 rows in economy are a few inches more spacious than the rest, but it's not really that noticable. I have no worries flying coach, and my girls just flew here and back alone, with no problems.  They do have the little tv screens on the back of the seats, which is nice.
