it really took me by surprise, b/c it was one of those things no one ever told me about.  but a combination of paracetemol and ibuprofen took the pain away, and you can use both whilst breastfeeding, so it worked out.

Hmm.  I should have a talk with some of my friends who've recently had a second.  No one has mentioned this and they were all sworn to tell me if there was anything I should be warned about. [smiley=inquisitive.gif]

Mine were much worse after my second child, I agree with the person who said it was worse than the birth itself. At least you knew at some point the baby would appear and it would all be over. :)

Cramps and PMS became so much worse after my second, who knows what will happen after having number three in March.

Anyone have the opposite happen, wouldn't that be nice!?

Me, too!!!  Before Isabella's birth, I had PMDD (premenstrual dysmorphic disease) and had to be put on medication.  The pain, agony and my temper were unbearable.  Since giving birth, I barely even notice "my time" of the month.  I feel sort of liberated after over 25 years of monthly torture!  It's wonderful!!!  I have even been taken off my medication.  My DH is thrilled, too!  He always jokingly says that my demon has been exised.   ;D

my pre-pregnancy periods (i wasnt on the pill or anything) - were on average, every 29 days, 4 days, light to heavy flow, cramping on days 2 and 3.

my post-pregnancy periods are now, 7 or 8 days long, heavy bleeding and cramping from days 1-6.

and my PMS has gotten a LOT worse...

sigh.. hope it gets better for you.
