Has anyone had a c-section in the UK?  If so, what was your experience.

Sorry I did not reply sooner I just saw your question. My dear wife has had three C sections. Our first child was breech. We found out after her birth that the placenta was stuck. Had she turned and we attemted a natural birth we would have had an emergency C-section. Our doctor said we were lucky she did'nt turn cause you run a risk  with the emergency C section. He insisted after the first that any additional children would have to come into the world the same way.  What was it like?? I was present for all three and my wife was awake and fine. No pain at all,the epidural sees to that. She described it as " It feels like someone doing the washing up in my stomach" The recovery is longer but not that bad. The doctor has used the same incision each time so the scar is minimal. We do feel a bit cheated because we had attended all the classes. We had planned a normal birth. On the positive side it was nice that we knew exactly the time and day of each birth in advance. We did not have to put our lives on hold when the due date approached. If you have any more specific or personal questions that you would like to address to her, feel free to PM me and I would be glad to put you in touch with her directly.

Good luck

I had two c/sections here. I have no complants at all. The care was excellent!
The first c/s I had NO pain at all and was up in the shower as soon as I could feel my legs. The second time I had a very difficult recovery but it was mostly due to carrying such a big baby.
