How busy do you think Manchester Airport be on the 26th?
« on: December 06, 2005, 05:37:55 AM »
I'm just wanting to get some input on how busy everyone thinks Manchester Airport will be on Boxing Day.  I know in the US the airports typically slow down on the 25th/26th depending on the location and then pick up again before New Years.  Has anyone flown into/out of Manchester on this day?

It affects my situation... here's why..

Not Manchester, but my Mom regularly flies into Heathrow or Gatwick on the 26th.  It's usually not too bad.

Luxie, are you planning to take the train to Lancaster (or anywhere) from Manchester Airport?  If you are, just a warning- the train station is like a 15 minute walk from the terminals so make sure you pack accordingly so you're not miserable dragging tons of luggage the whole time!

Thanks for the heads up!  :)

I just went in October and my DF picked me up and yes we did the 15 minute walk to the train station through the airport to get back to Lancaster.  This time however, he and his father are picking me up to go to his parents' house so it's all good there.   :)

Yay, that's good then- I swear, after being in a student town where we were all the public-transport only types, I forget sometimes that people actually have cars in the UK!  :P

Luxie,
I work for an American airline and actually commute in/out of Manchester airport. Our flights that day, along w/our codeshares are heavy but not overbooked.
