Cost of laundry and dry-cleaning

I'm another who doesn't own clothes that require ironing or dry cleaning.

I get a lot of clothes from the US where they're perfected the art of no-iron fabrics, especially for kids clothes. 

The last time I bought a garment that requires dry-cleaning was for our wedding.  An Episode dress I probably don't have a chance in hell of ever fitting into again.

He saw 10 un-ironed ones in my closet and said 'sorry honey, i'll do those when i get back from my business trip!'  Whatta guy. hehehe.

hehehehe.  there are *some* pros to being married. 

my mom loves my husband, she's saving a basket full for when we go home for Christmas!

There is no job worse than ironing.  However, I do find it fascinating when I'm in a hotel and I see a big ole iron stain on the carpet.

My mother is the queen of ironing.  She loves to do it, it's like therapy for her.  She is so patient with it, and everything she irons looks better than from the dry cleaners.  From time to time she will take in ironing and charge by the hour.  She was even ironing the zillion thread count bed sheets for a wealthy woman she knows recently.  She irons every day, something or other.  And she uses an old wooden ironing board I bought at an antique store for her, and an iron from the 1950's - she claims it's the best combination.

Yes - I've often wondered about the woman myself.

Oh, I love to iron, too.  In fact, one of my college graduation gifts was a top-of-the-line Rowenta! 

I'm actually an 'iron every day' person.  I'm horrid at packing, horrid at putting things away and never have time to iron everything before putting it away even if I got better at putting things away.  So almost every morning I iron what I'm going to wear.  It's part of my system...built in time and everything.  I think about what I'm doing that day so the time is well spent.

I am much the same way.  While my mom irons as soon as it comes out of the dryer, I iron as needed.  This time of year it's mostly sweaters and wool trousers or skirts so I don't do as much ironing, but in the summer when everything is cotton and linen, I iron just about every day.  I'm usually listening to the news while I'm doing it so I can catch up on whatever happened in the world over night.
