Should and will it help if i get a Declaration Of Common Law Union completed by a solicitor?
This is to apply for un-married partner visa.

It will make no difference whatsoever.  Declarations of Common-law marriages have no legal standing in immigration law.  If you can prove that you have lived together for 2 years, that is enough.

Is this a same sex relationship? If so, you may be interested in the Civil Partnership Act, which comes into force this December.
