American style relish
« on: November 05, 2005, 09:51:13 AM »
Everytime I go to the US I always bring back those plastic squirty bottles of relish.
Yesterday I went with a friend to Macro (like Costco) and I found Branston gherkin relish which looks exactly like American relish. I bought some and its GREAT! Better than American relish! Has anyone else tried this?

Tesco and sainsbury's carry the Branston one.  Though I have never seen dill kind.  I just buy French gerkins and chop those up.  No sugar in them...

Yuk.  I HATE sweet relish, too.  Probably has a bunch of friggin' aspartame and saccharine in it as well.

Thanks for the idea, vnice!

You're welcome ladies.  ;D

If you ever get to France they sell these HUGE jars of Cornichons/Gerkins cheapish.  Not a pinch of sugar fake or real in sight.
