Chiropracters on the NHS

So I'm a little ignorant here.  I need to go see a chiro.  I don't think it's a problem that a regular doc can take care of.  I've never been to a chiro let alone one in the UK.  I asked Frank if I wanted to see a chiro on the NHS if I would need a referral from my regular doc first and he thinks I may do.  Does anyone know for sure?  Could I just contact a chiro direct and go?  Unfortunately, we really can't go private on this one.  And if I can contact a chiro direct and still been seen on the NHS can someone make a good recommendation for a chiro either in London or in western area of Essex?  

Phil's mum has been going to a chiro for a few months now and it's done her a world of good.  I'll get the info from her on how she made the appointment (referral or not) and who it is - I don't think it's all that far from her, therefore not all that far from you!    I'll probably speak with her tonight and get back with you ASAP!

Good news is - no referral is needed.  Bad news is - NHS doesn't cover it.  Phil's mum was paying £27 per visit - she paid it in installments, though.  She's getting the name/number of the guy she saw today and I'll forward in e-mail to you once I have it.  She really liked him - he was more of a "whole body" healer, involved in the Chakras and all that.  Much nicer than just a "snap, crackle, pop"-you back into place type!!
