Moving to the UK
« on: November 21, 2005, 03:52:58 AM »
Hello My name is Mike I am coming to the UK in about 3 months. I am a Journeyman Electrician here in Canada as well as the States, do you know if it is hard to find work in the UK. I am a German Citizen.. I think that means I can work and live in the UK with no problem's right? You see I got into trouble when I was younger and recently the United States is Deporting all people who are not citizens that have been convicted of a felony. I was caught with 50 pills of X in 1997 in a club in Vegas. Now even though I lived my entire life there, it doesn't matter. My family, my life as I knew it is basically over. So I have to start over, Please if you can give me some idea's on where to live and start over It would mean the world. I can't go to Germany I only speak English, that's why i feel the UK is my only choice. thank you for your help sorry about the story... my Email is Mikey0731@hotmail.com

Well, FWIW, you can live and work in the UK w/no restrictions if you have a German passport.  You are also free to live and work in Ireland as a German/EU national.
