spousal visa sponsor's in school, and unemployed
« on: December 08, 2005, 03:39:17 PM »
Hello,

I am finally about to submit my spousal visa application next week when my UK hubby comes for the holidays! I have everything in order, but am worried about one thing. Hubby is in his last year of university and lives off of his student loan. Once he graduates in May, he will of course look for a job, but until then, will this, could this fact upset our application? I am able to do telecommuting work for the company I work for now, so I can help with living costs and we will be living with his father til we get on our feet. I also have a substantial amount of savings as well.
I am hoping that with the proof of the amount he receives from his loan and my income and savings we should be ok.

Garry- is there any bias against sponsor's being in school, and unemployed? Should we submit a letter stating his work intentions once he graduates, or a CV?

Thank you for any help,

B

Hi

There is no bias providing you can substantiate your funds.  A supporting letter from his father, along with proof of accommodation and, if possible, his proof of funds, plus a letter from your employer and your bank statements, should be fine.  If your husband can provide job offer letters it would certainly help.
