[smiley=laugh4.gif] I have to say, that you are one very brave man, I would NEVER have opened it out of curiosity. LOL!

GROSS!!!!!!!

My sister and I decided to trade bedrooms last month, so I had to move everything I've collected in  it since 1997 or so....I found a half-eaten chocolate easter bunny (or at least that's what the box said it was) in the very back of my closet. It had a sell by date of April 1996...yeah, it was green and moldy.

yeuch! that reminds me of when I was a student I had a job for a while cleaning this old lady's house.  She asked me to look through her kitchen cupboards to see whether she was running low on anything. She had about 20 tins of tuna (I am not exaggerating!!) and a tin of beans that judging by the label was at least 10 years old.

Reminds me it's time to clean out the fridge, don't even want to think about what is growing back there.

Haha....I woulda opened it too, I'm quite curious myself! Reminds me of my mom, she never cleans out her fridge, when she buys something new, she shoves the old one to the back, and sticks the new one in front, then forgets about the one in the back, and I found some green and crusty cream cheese, and a rather hairy tamale in there last time I was home :o...needless to say, I cleaned out her fridge.  :P

That's the one nice thing about the small UK fridges: no room to 'lose' food.   :)

ewwww... I have to agree about the small fridges here, much easier to keep things up to date. My mom doesn't keep up with food very well either and it's a battle for me to do it too, but i force myself every week before shopping to just throw stuff out.

OT:  By the way - the sell by dates on some foods is too late, I have had beef and seafood go off well before their dates. I have also gotten ill b/c of this twice from asda, I will no longer buy seafood there. And I am discovering my local butcher and will continue to frequent there for fresh meat.
