Letters

For those of you  who got married in the states, when you wrote any letters did you sign them in your married name or previous name? Because we will be trying to apply directly after getting married I wondered about this.

I would be inclined to put my married name but not sure if this is the right thing as all of my proof is in my old married name.

Hi Sonya,

I don't think it will matter much. When I turned in my application I had both of my names on the supporting documents. They'll have a copy of your marriage license and know what your maiden name and married names both are so I doubt it should be much of an issue.

It really won't matter.  The ECO will use common sense to make the connection between your maiden and married names.
