Name:  Little Bay
Locale:  Kilburn (NW London)
Type of cuisine: continental
What do you like best about it: inexpensive but oh so good
Favorite dish (if any):  monkfish, chips and any desert
Recommendation whilst there:  you can't go wrong
Price range:  about £30-40 for two including wine

I have gone there several times and just love it.  The food is quite good for the price...and the restaurant is kinda cool too.  If you are going with 2-4 people, ask to reserve a booth up in the top section...fun!

I used to go there, it's great! Their sister restaurant Le Mercury in Islington is good too.

I have yet to find a restaurant in Canterbury that I REALLY like so I"m going to give a mention to another London one.

Name: Biriyani
Locale: Holloway Rd, London N7
Type of cuisine: Indian
What do you like best about it: Really good food, friendly staff and cheap!
Favorite dish (if any) Paneer Tikka is good and their Lemon Rice is so yummy!
Recommendation whilst there: It's all good.
Price range: about £25 for three courses for two people, not incl booze.

Name: Gig's Fish Bar
Locale: 12 Tottenham St London W1T 4RE
Type of cuisine: Fish & chips!
What do you like best about it: The chips are fried in nut oil and aren't saturated and soggy. Eat in accomodation is a bit sparse, but it's fun to take away and walk up to one of the local parks and eat. Very generous portions- we share one between us.
Favorite dish (if any): Cod and Chips with a battered sausage for good luck  ;)
Recommendation whilst there: same as above
Price range:
£4-£5 a generous portion

Name: Amato's Patisserie Cafe'
Locale: 14 Old Compton Street Soho (London)
Type of cuisine: Italian desserts/ light pasta and sandwiches
What do you like best about it: Wonderful atmosphere and friendly service-great place to meet friends. Only annoyance is that it's smallish and if people smoke, so do you.
Favorite dish (if any): Any of their amazing cakes but their authentic thick hot chocolate shouldn't be missed.
Recommendation whilst there: Same as above!
Price range:
£8-12 for meals
