STRESSFUL!
« on: January 27, 2006, 10:10:24 AM »
Okie, it's been so long since we've done this (ordered tickets) that we've forgotten how we did it. He swears that me and my mom did it and he just called AA on his end with a reservation # and paid for it. I swear and so does my mom that he called and did all of it.

We got an electronic ticket last time for me. We just can't remember how we went about getting it. What should we do? Should I call in the morning and see what they say or should he call/explain the situation and have them figure it out?  ::)  I know if he calls AA on his side that they'll have it sorted in 10 mins time.

It's really become a sore point for stress. He'll ask me what I want seating wise and where I want to fly into (he knows I hate Chicago...I almost missed my plane last time)...he says he doesn't know everything that I want and it would be easier if I just did it. He's the one paying for it so I don't know how to go about doing it.

He was looking online and getting confused and pissed and he didn't know what "terminal change" and "overnight flight" meant. I told him I thought terminal change means I had to walk forever like I did in chicago to go to another terminal and that over night means I'll leave here in the morning and get there in england in their morning.

I think I'm just going to call in the morning and see...hopefully they can figure it out.

Hi. As far as I know, the only way for you to get an eticket if he is paying for it is for him to actually go to the airport and pay for it there. Then they can issue an eticket for you. If you call and make the reservation, he goes and pays at the airport or an AA office, you should be good to go. I am pretty sure, because of sercurity, they cannot issue an eticket to you on someone elses credit card.

My mother-in-law paid for a ticket for me on American Airlines using her credit card. We did it through www.americanairlines.co.uk and had no problems getting me an e-ticket.

Hiya...I just bought an e-ticket on American Airlines for my boyfriend's visit in April- we're splitting the cost but he doesn't have a credit card so I put it on my card.  It was super-simple- I just logged onto aa.com, entered his name as the passenger and then put in my credit card details- that's it!  Nothing to stress about.

(And yes, terminal change and overnight flight mean exactly what you think they mean ;))

I will have to remember that for the future because some other airlines don't allow this. I haven't flown AA for years. Is it good?

I have bought tickets for my family with my credit card, given them the confirmation number, then they go to to check in with their Government issued ID.  There has never been a security problem or the credit card that I paid with having to be present.

Reeka,
You can reserve a flight, get a confirmation number, have your Boyfriend call and pay for it, quoting the confirmation number.

AA has the largest pitch in economy..means more leg room for you...

most airlines now days are e-ticket regardless of who tickets them..........

He didn't go to the airport last time, it was done over the phone. I'm going to call right now and see what he/i need to do. :P

I didn't think you could do an e-ticket online, let alone for someone else in another country. Thanks for the tip.

I've done it online as well as over the phone with Virgin.  Sometimes I've just gotten the info, passed it along to my dad (in the States), and he then books it for me and forwards the e-ticket to me.
