weird body thingy
« on: January 31, 2006, 11:29:38 AM »
I just saw this on a show on t.v.

Put your right foot flat on the floor, and make a clockwise circle, keep it going, and make a clockwise circle with your right hand as well, keep both going, then try to draw a six in the air with your right hand. What happens?

I love stuff like this.  It's amazing how the body is all connected.  My foot didn't start going the other way right away.  First it started going sideways and then counter-clockwise.

Unless someone has a neurological condition, everyone's does. There are neurological connections between your hand and foot that demand similar movement.  ;)

I did it standing.

Did anyone ever do this? I think it was something we used to do to pass the time in study hall in high school. You stand in a doorway and push your arms hard out against the doorframe for quite a while. Then you step away from the frame ... and your arms magically go up!

I did this sitting.  I guess it works no matter which way you do it.

Yes!!

Or how about this one:  You stand facing the wall, with your arm stretched-out in front of you, so that only your fingertips can touch the wall.  Stand with your arm stretched like that for 10 seconds, then rub that elbow and try and touch the wall again.  Your arm shrinks.
