New american Food groceries online shopping-Take a Look!
« on: February 18, 2006, 08:51:57 PM »
Ok I hope this helps there is this company and site that was created for people who wanted to buy groceries on-line and get them shipped overseas round the world thought you guys might be interested in taking a look at it; what you do is you shop directly from albertsons in Los angeles and they mail forward the groceries to you, non perishable items though...
I tried it once when I was living in Sweden and they were great, eventhough kind´a expensive but all depends on everyone´s budget..

Hope it helps :)

Thanks for the link. Do you know if you have to pay customs duty or is that included in the shipping rates?

I read their FAQs. The buyer is responsible for all duties. :(

Yes that is true customer is responsible for duties and customs but! rest assure that if you buy cereals, groceries you won´t have to pay any customes on them, that is unless you order large huge amounts , tons of groceries, you know what I mean? it´s like if folks send you from back home a box for xmas of chips cookies etc..you won´t pay any duties customs..at least when I ordered in Sweden I didn´t pay anything, UPS brought the box straight to my door step it was great!

Wait  a second!!!! ok this happened right now, a friend called me he lives in Liverpool, told me he´s been unsing this service for one year and they never charged him any customes duties since it´s only groceries..so I guess the site states that just to make sure that in the case they charge you you would be responsible, but that´s it.
I think i am going to order again from them. ;) :) ;)

I think it depends on the total value of your order. My mother sent me some curtains (used) and put what she had paid for them, in excess of $100, I ended up paying duties when they got here, of about £25.
