Hello Everyone!!

I have really been enjoying your posts!!  Ive been in the UK about 4 years now and cant believe it took me this long to find this site!!!!  Like many of you I like England but get VERY homesick...and feel a bit isolated at times.  Anyway its comforting to know that there are so many others out there going through the same things.  Hope to get chatting with you all soon!

Nicole

What part of PA are you from? I spent my Jr and High School years in Carlisle and went to college at Shippensburg. Lovely area...just went back for my high school reunion in October and it was so...Norman Rockwell!

Hi Nicole and welcome to our little corner of the web.   :) Four years is quite a while in the UK!  Are you planning on staying much longer or do you want to move back to the US one day?

Homesickness is a tough thing and even seasoned expats go through it at times!

I am still in the US but know all about homesickness!

Hope to see you around the site!

Hi Nicole welcome to UKY.  How was your holiday?  Did you celebrate Thanksgiving in the traditional style?

Enjoy your time here.  It's alot of fun.

Hello Everyone!!

Its been nice to hear from you guys!

Lisa,  Im from the lehigh valley.  Im afraid I cant remember where Carlisle is but I have some friends who went to Shippensburg.   I know what you mean about the Norman Rockwell thing I think.  Going home is like reverse culture shock  because it all looks so foreign in a weird way.  My little home town looks like something out of a Rockwell painting to me now. Freaky.

Anyway thanks for your posts its so cool to hear from other Americans over here!!!!!!

Hi Nicole! My parents are in Tamaqua now. I'm pretty sure that's Lehigh Valley although I can't remember anymore. If not, I know it's rather close.

Like you, I unfortunately found this site well after I moved here as I was looking for info for a friend preparing to move here. Wish I found it much earlier! I'm just barely in my 4th year here as well.

Hope you enjoy reading the posts here as much as I do.
