What happens after I get my spousal visa.
« on: March 06, 2006, 01:10:09 PM »
Hey everyone,

I have my fiancee visa and all that jazz (I put my future hubby in charge of the wedding while I did the visa paperwork)  I wanted to know after we are married and that whole shindig goes down and we apply for my spousal visa do I get my national insurance number issued the same day or do I have to apply for that as well as the NHS dealy.   I am completly lost because I would like to start working ASAP (because I will go insane just sittting around all day not contributing) .  Does anyone have any advice?? ???

As I came over under different circumstances, someone who's gone through the spousal route would be better to advise you.

but... you are eligable for NHS treatment now.  I'd go down to the local surgery, and register yourself.  One less thing to deal with later on.
If you harbour bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

You can't get an NI number until you have a job offer, so don't worry about that, your employers will sort it out. If not, you can go to your local job centre and get one.
