I got my visa!!

YAY! I got my visa.  It went so smooth and it only took about ten minutes.  I was really organized, which helped!  I recommend anyone applying to get a binder and divide things to make it simple when the person is asking for them.
She was really nice and I was surprised how easy it was.  I didn't realize that was the appointment until she said I was getting my visa.  I thought she was just checking to make sure I had everything before I had my "real" appointment.
In any case, I have my visa and I'm leaving at the end of May :)  Now, I just have to worry about the Pets Scheme! Thanks for everyone's help!

Did you go to the British Consulate in Chicago?  That's where I went and the woman I had was extremely friendly as well. She was pleased to see everything organized so i bet that helped you out quite a bit!  Congratulations!!

Yes, I went to the consulate in Chicago and had a really helpful woman as well.  She was so friendly!  I'm so used to nasty & arrogant immigration officers at the airport...I was really happy and lucky to have had her! :)

thanks for posting this--every time i read about someone in a similar situation getting through with flying colours, i let out a wee sigh of relief (i'm hyperorganised, too).  :)
