Hello all,
I am still new to the site, so bear with me!
My husband and I might be moving to the UK, and since I can't bear to be separated from our furball any longer than need be, we wanted to start the process just in case.
We printed out the "how to checklist" off the DEFRA site and took it to our vet today. They installed the microchip, and gave the rabies vaccine. We got a printout from the vet and they included the date, batch number, producer of the vaccine, and they did check the chip before and after insertion.
Our question... we're unsure at this point as to if there is a given form we're supposed to be filling out as we go through this. Are our vets notes, scrawled on the health certificate they printed out for us going to suffice? We're so worried about not doing something right here that it's really scary!
The PETS scheme says to record all of this on the vaccination certificate, but we've not been keeping up an official record. That's why I'm wondering if there's an official form I can get, or if the certificate she printed out today will work. (It's not an official notarized certificate - just a computer printout).
If you've done this, how did you record these first few (but ultimately crucial!) steps?
Thanks,
Sonja
